Doghouse - For Rent

Doghouse was inspired by my experiences searching for rentals and living with housemates in Brisbane. Grey's character is a combination of how unsure and awkward I felt when I first set out on house inspections alone, and my housemate's timid greyhound Prancer.

My honours exegesis investigated animated comedy for social media, using current practitioners, comic strips, and stand-up comedy as reference material.

Both episodes are uploaded on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

"Navigating the world of house-sharing can be tough for anyone, but finding a room in a sharehouse is an even more impossible task for Grey, an ex-racing greyhound dog with anxiety and a desperate need to chase her tail."

A short social media animated series I have concepted and created as part of a practice-based exegesis, producing a series plan and two finished episodes totaling 2:20mins.

Both episodes were completely animated using ToonBoom Storyboard Pro utilising advanced tools.
